Lift Sponsors Another Successful Project Party
Over 70 regional non-profits found hundreds of volunteers at the 3rd annual Lift Johnstown Project Party held at the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center on Thursday, January 23, 2014. The event also hosted a blood drive by the American Red Cross and complimentary culinary samples from the Greater Johnstown High School and the Greater Johnstown Career & Technology Center Culinary Arts Departments.

The Project Party provides the region’s non-profits an opportunity to introduce the community and potential volunteers to the wonderful programs and services they offer. It enables them to recruit help from students needing service hours to senior citizens who have time on their hands and utilize that free assistance to run programs or perform repairs they otherwise would not be able to afford. Volunteer assistance helps to fill the gaps in already strained budgets that funding cuts and rising expenses have depleted.

Non-profits at the Party also have the opportunity to network with other agencies and organizations and often form partnerships on projects that are beneficial to both, “….this is a benefit that we hadn’t anticipated,” said Brad Clemenson, Lift Johnstown Coordinator.
